Ten Syrian immigrants wearing uniforms tried to travel from Athens airport to Switzerland as a volleyball team, Greek police said Sunday.
The group, which denied it would help cross the border and carried two balls with the same backpack, was exposed during police surveillance at Eleftherios Venizelos airport.
The immigrants, who entered Greece illegally, were arrested after their papers turned out to be fake.
According to security sources, members of the group who wanted to travel to Zurich gave Ukrainian passports.
