Unidentified assailants fired at the headquarters of the US embassy in the Turkish capital of Ankara on Monday morning, without causing any injuries.
The Turkish police began the search for the shooter, who fled with a white car after the attack, which occurred at about 5:00 a.m. (02:00 GMT), the CNN-Turk station said.
The attack targeted the security office of the US Embassy in central Ankara, she said.
The attack comes at a time when relations between Turkey and the United States are in great tension against the backdrop of Washington´s demand that the Turkish authorities release US pastor Andrew Bronson, who is under house arrest after his arrest late in 2016, on charges related to "terrorism."
Turkey accuses the US pastor of being involved with the coup plotters in 2016 and placed him under house arrest after several months in prison.
The claim has evolved into US economic pressure and sanctions, which caused significant fluctuations in the exchange rate of the Turkish pound (local currency).
