Taliban kidnap more than 100 passengers in northeast Afghanistan

According to official Afghan sources, the movement has kidnapped more than 100 passengers, after cutting off three buses in Kunduz province, northeast of the country.

In a press release on Monday, the Kunduz state security official, Saif Allah, said that the "Taliban" had arrested three buses in the state district of "Khanabad" and kidnapped the passengers on board.

The security forces went to "Khan Abad" to liberate the kidnappers, causing clashes between security agents and the "Taliban," he said.

Large areas of Afghanistan in the current period are experiencing clashes between government forces and the "Taliban" movement, which has been able to seize a large area of the country´s rural areas and has launched attacks on cities as well.
