Settlers on Sunday morning raided the al-Aqsa mosque compound with military protection provided by the Israeli occupation police.

According to the Islamic Waqf in Jerusalem, in an interview to the "Quds Press", 157 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa from the "Bab al-Mughrabi" in the form of successive groups, and wandered in the courtyards amid the presence of members of the Israeli police with them, as well as the armed special forces deployed in circles Muslim worshippers.

She noted that settlers had received explanations about the alleged "structure " by their Jewish mentors, and after completing the four-hour morning tour of intrusion, they came out of the "door of the Chain", which saw their prayers and rituals.

She added that 28 Jewish student settlers stormed the mosque during the same tour, pointing out that some student groups were allowed to roam in all the Al-Aqsa courtyards without a definite path such as settlers, except for the storming of covered chapels.

Two elements of the Israeli Antiquities Authority had stormed al-Aqsa during the same period.

The raids take place on a daily basis in the Al-Aqsa Mosque, except on Fridays and Saturdays, where the "Bab al-Mughrabi" is completely closed to settlers and Jewish tourists.

The incursions take place on two rounds; the first begins from 7:00 to 11:00, and the second begins after the afternoon prayer is completed for one hour.
