According to data published by the "Palestinian Council " in the United States, 600,000 American citizens of Palestinian origin were affected by the decision to close the Office of the PLO representative in Washington.
The Palestinian Council said in a statement on Sunday that the closure of the organization´s representation was another US step toward attempts to clear the Palestinian issue.
"The effects of the decision do not stand on the political side, there are serious humanitarian aspects associated with the consular services provided by the representative," he said.
He added: "This decision was not out of the context of attempts to liquidate the Palestinian issue, but complemented it, through the above-mentioned targets that the Tarb administration sought to remove the Jerusalem file from the negotiating table if it resumes, recognize it as the capital of the occupying Power, and transfer the Embassy of the country to it."
He pointed out that the current U.S. administration, allied with the Government of the far-right ruling in Israel, continues its accelerated steps to liquidate and end the Palestinian issue in the service of the occupying Power, and enshrines the presence of the "Zionist entity " as a regional force, after swallowing the Palestinian territories.
"The Tarb administration seeks to legitimize the existence of Israeli settlements in the Palestinian territories by stopping their illegal description in the documents issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and by undoing the use of the slogan or the principle of a two-state solution when talking about the future of the political process," he said.
"These successive and unjust actions against the Palestinian cause are aimed at liquidating them with the removal and withdrawal of the major files, foremost of which are the issues of Jerusalem, refugees, and borders," he said.
He called on the members of the Arab and Islamic communities and the supporters of right, justice and equality in the United States to stand with the struggle of the Palestinian community in Washington to pressure the government of Tarombe to undo its biased resolutions to the occupying Power.
Sinan Chakdih, the vice-President of the Palestinian Council in the United States, revealed a specific time-bound telephone campaign with the State Department, in addition to raising the Palestinian flag on the homes and institutions of those who reject the decision and campaign on social media.
The Palestinian Council in the United States has some 20 Palestinian-American organizations.
