Prime Minister of Malaysia calls to stop the US economic sanctions against Iran

Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said Saturday in Doha that the US economic sanctions against Iran are illegal and his country rejects them.

This came during statements made by Mahathir Mohamad at a conference in the Qatari capital, Doha, reported by "Bloomberg" news agency, noting that the restrictions hinder Malaysia´s free access to an important market and business partner.

The United States has imposed sanctions on Iran over what it considers to be hostile and destabilizing policies in the region by Iran.

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, opened today, Saturday, the Doha Forum, which is being held under the slogan "Governance in a Multipolar World."

The forum will witness the participation of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, and from Turkey, the defense ministers, Khulusi Akar, the Foreign Minister Mouloud Cawushoglu, and the presidential spokesperson Ibrahim Qalan. And from the United States, Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin, accompanied by Adviser to the President of the United States and his daughter, Ivanka Trump.

The Doha Forum was created in 2000 as a global platform for opinion leaders and policy makers around the world to come up with innovative and applicable solutions.
