Preventing the introduction of fuel and goods into Gaza ignites the escalation

The recent decision of the Israeli occupation authorities to prevent the entry of all goods and goods into the Gaza Strip complicates the already tense scene, especially as it exacerbates the humanitarian situation in Gaza and is a new step towards the ignition of the situation.

The Presidential Committee for the Coordination of Goods of the General Administration of Crossings and Borders informed private sector companies of the decision of the Occupying Government to stop the entry of all goods and goods into the Gaza Strip except food and medical only, starting on Sunday.

Local sources indicated that the occupation returned the trucks parked inside the crossing and refused to allow them to enter the Gaza Strip, except for trucks carrying food and medical supplies only.

The Israeli decision follows several decisions taken by the occupying authorities to tighten the blockade on the Gaza Strip, including the suspension of fuel supplies, the closure of the sea and the Karam Abu Salem commercial crossing, and the prohibition of the introduction of modern vehicles, tires and others.

For several days, the Gaza Strip has witnessed a mutual escalation, with hundreds of balloons being launched towards gaza´s cover settlements, as well as some activities of the Night Confusion Unit, while the Gaza Strip is witnessing daily shelling of Palestinian resistance positions, causing heavy material damage without human casualties.

Collective punishment

The writer and political analyst Dr. Hossam al-Dejani emphasizes that the closure of the crossing is a step that comes within the framework of collective punishment of the residents of the Gaza Strip, which must be confronted through two directions, the first of which is legal through Palestinian diplomacy and exposed in international forums.

In the case of the rapprochement between Fatah and Hamas, The Authority´s President Mahmoud Abbas should move to prosecute (Israel) in all international and human rights forums against this decision, which punishes Gaza´s civilian population, al-Dejani said.

The other trend is to continue to resist, especially since the behaviour of the burning balloons and the strategy of attrition pursued by the young rebels on the Gaza border have proved to be feasible and confuse the calculations (Israel).

He stressed the need for a media strategy that exposes the occupation´s decision and emphasizes that the basis of the problem is the continuation of the blockade, and "those who want calm and stability must lift the blockade."

He pointed out that if the closure continues for a long time and the mediators and the international community do not move, the Palestinian resistance and the factions will not accept the continuation of the deteriorating economic situation in the Gaza Strip, which warns that things may roll over towards a confrontation that no one wishes.

More pressure.

According to the writer and political analyst Explainbeel Al-Ghraib, the occupation is putting more pressure on the Gaza Strip, which are calculated and interpreted in two contexts, the first of which may be in the framework of the ongoing negotiations between mediators that (Israel) wants to press and raise its ceiling.

The second framework is that the second step is provocative and deliberate to put pressure on the people of Gaza, which will not lead to a solution but to further escalation and explosion, which will be paid for by the occupation as the main problem.

He notes that the policy of pressure will only generate an explosion in Gaza and the provocative scenes on the seaside of the gunboats chasing the fishermen are evidence of this.
