The newspaper "Middle East " of London quoted what it called a Palestinian source informed that President Mahmoud Abbas will direct what was described by a recent warning to the world, through his forthcoming address at the United Nations, "either salvage the two-state solution or bear the result of destroying this solution."
According to the paper, the source pointed out that President Abbas would say in his speech: "Either an international peace conference within specific terms of reference, or making difficult decisions at the meeting of the Palestinian Central Council ".
The decisions taken at the Council meeting would include the suspension of recognition of Israel and the cancellation of agreements with it, thereby declaring a Palestinian state under occupation.
Yesterday, President Abbas met with his French counterpart Emmanuel Makin at the Elysee Palace in the French capital of Paris, and is scheduled to go to the Republic of Ireland to meet with the Irish president and Prime Minister, and then complete the tour to New York to participate in the work of the seventy-third session of the Assembly of the United Nations.
