Palestinian Authority staff on Sunday withdrew from the Karm Abu Salem commercial crossing east of Rafah without knowing the reasons.
The information office of the crossings, or the Civil Affairs Authority, did not comment on the news of the withdrawal of the staff. There were reports of a decision by the Palestinian Authority to withdraw staff permanently, as was done at the Rafah crossing because of the excesses of Hamas.
In recent days, Hamas has prevented staff from entering the crossing for reasons it said were security to investigate a serious case that once again took the crossing.
