Dozens of Jerusalemites, Israeli left activists and foreign supporters demonstrated in the afternoon in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of Jerusalem, against the decision to evacuate the Sabbagh family from its building in favor of the settlers.
The participants raised slogans in Arabic, English and Hebrew condemning the settlement in the city of Jerusalem in general, Sheikh Jarrah and the town of Silwan in particular.
"We came to raise our voice against the settlement in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood," said al-Maqdisi activist Mohammed Abu al-Hommos, noting that members of the Israeli authorities chased a group of children who were raising the flag of Palestine and said, "This incident brings us back to the memory of the first intifada when the masked men were prosecuted and they Raising the Palestinian flag ".
He noted that a session next week on the issue of the al-Sabbagh family called on the Palestinians to have a heavy presence in such demonstrations to increase pressure to stop the process of displacing the Sabbagh family from its building.
