Opening of the sixth session of the China and Arab Countries Expo in northwest China

The sixth session of the China-Arab States Expo opened today, Thursday, in Yinchuan City, the capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in northwestern China.


The event, which lasts for four days, attracts guests from more than 50 countries such as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Mauritania.


This year's edition of the exhibition includes trade fairs and forums on trade and investment, modern agriculture, cross-border trade, cultural tourism, health, water resource exploitation and meteorological cooperation.


The exhibition area of the exhibition is about 40,000 square metres, with more than 1,000 local and foreign companies participating.


The China-Arab States Expo, which was first held in 2013, has become an important platform for the two sides to enhance practical cooperation and advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.


Held under the auspices of the Ministry of Commerce, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Ningxia Regional Government, the exhibition attracted more than 400,000 participants and 6,000 companies from 112 countries and regions over the past ten years, with more than 1,200 cooperative projects signed in areas including modern agriculture and technologies. China is now considered the largest trading partner of Arab countries. The trade volume between the two sides almost doubled compared to its counterpart in 2012, reaching 431.4 billion US dollars last year. In the first half of this year, the trade volume between the two sides reached $199.9 billion.
