The Israeli occupation authorities have arrested 908 children under the age of 18 since the beginning of this year and until the end of October 2018, Al-Captive said on Tuesday.
The Israeli occupation authorities continue to arrest 270 children in the "Megiddo and Ofer" detention centres, as well as another part of Jerusalem children detained in special centers, the POW club said in a press release Tuesday, on the occasion of the World Children´s Day, which was approved by the UN General Assembly on November 20 November.
He referred to violations carried out by the occupation authorities against children during their arrest, which began from the very first moment of their brutal arrest and were taken from their homes late in the night; dozens of cases were recorded in particular after 2015, for children who had been shot by the occupying forces Direct and deliberate during their arrests.
Moreover, the occupation authorities transferred family children to interrogation and detention centres, kept them without food or drink, used severe beatings against them, directed insults and obscene words, threatened and intimidated them to extract confessions under pressure, and imposed sentences and fines High.
The prisoner´s club noted that violations continue to be committed against children during their detention, including depriving the child of completing his studies, depriving part of them of family visits, or obtaining appropriate treatment for those who suffer from illnesses that require intensive medical care and follow-up.
Since 2015, the issue of child prisoners has undergone many transformations, including the adoption of a number of racist or draft laws, which initiate high sentences for children, in some cases reaching more than 10 years, and even life sentences.
The POW Club renewed its demand for international human rights institutions, led by the United Nations Children´s Fund (UNICEF), to make greater efforts to protect Palestinian children.
