The United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Nikolai Mladenov said today, Wednesday, that the Israeli plans to annex the Jordan Valley are a "devastating blow."
He said in a tweet on Twitter, "If the annexation of some or all of Area C in the West Bank is implemented, this would constitute a devastating blow to the possibility of reviving Israeli-Palestinian negotiations, the progress of regional peace, and the essence of the two-state solution."
This came in response to successive Israeli statements by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and opposition leader Benny Gantz, regarding the annexation of the Jordan Valley and northern Dead Sea and settlements.
