The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in its capacity as the implementing body for Japanese official development assistance, announced the provision of relief aid to improve humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip , which has been subjected to Israeli aggression since the 7th of last October.
JICA explained in a press release on Thursday that the relief aid arrived at Al-Arish Airport in Egypt yesterday, Wednesday, and will then be transported to the Gaza Strip with the help of the Egyptian Red Crescent.
She noted that in response to this emergency, JICA is providing humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip as a first phase of support, including tents and blankets.
JICA pointed out that it had signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Egyptian Red Crescent to ensure the rapid transfer of relief aid to the Gaza Strip upon its arrival at Al-Arish Airport, and there it would be distributed by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine (UNRWA) or the Palestine Red Crescent Society.
