The Government Information Office in Gaza announced today, Thursday, November 9, 2023, that the Israeli occupation army bombed 8 hospitals during the past three days, and that it caused 18 hospitals to be out of service since the start of the “aggression” on the Gaza Strip on October 7 last year.
The office said: “As part of its dirty, criminal war on hospitals, the occupation bombed the courtyard of Al-Shifa Hospital last night with an artillery shell, and a short while ago it bombed the gate of Al-Nasr Hospital.”
He stressed that "the occupation's permission to bomb hospitals and turn them into military targets is a 'war crime' according to international humanitarian law, and is criminalized by 16 international agreements and UN resolutions that impose protection for these health facilities."
He added: "Despite this supposed protection, the occupation (..) has so far directly bombed 8 hospitals over the past three days, leaving dozens of martyrs and wounded, and causing 18 hospitals to be out of service since the beginning of the aggression."
