The Israeli occupation forces arrested a monk who participated in a protest staged by the Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate in the Old City of Jerusalem on Wednesday morning.

According to eyewitnesses, one of the monks was arrested, and others participated in the pause called by the Patriarchate to protest against the refusal of the occupying Government to carry out the restoration work within the Coptic monastery of the sultan, where the occupation government is taking over the works inside the monastery for the benefit of al-Ahbash. Without the consent of the Coptic Church.

In the meantime, there is tension in the vicinity of the Sultan monastery adjacent to the Church of the resurrection in the old city of occupied Jerusalem amid an intense presence of the occupying forces.
