Indian nurse in Saudi Arabia infected with "Corona" virus

Minister of State for External Affairs of India Muralihaidran said Thursday that a nurse working in a Saudi hospital has become the first Indian to be infected with the new coronavirus that has appeared in China, and has claimed the lives of 17 people so far.

Muralidharan said that about 100 nurses working in Al-Hayat Hospital in Khamis Mushayt, in Asir, in the southwest of the kingdom, were tested, and one virus was discovered.

The minister tweeted on Twitter: “The injured nurse is receiving treatment at the National Life Hospital - Aseer, and she is recovering well.”

It is noteworthy that the largest number of nurses 100 come from Kerala, southern India.

The 2.6 million Indians in Saudi Arabia represent the largest community in the Kingdom. Many Indian nurses and paramedics work in hospitals and medical centers across the country.

In the same context, Vietnam witnessed today (Thursday) the first two cases of the new Corona virus in the city of Ho Chi Minh, south of the country, according to the Vietnamese News Agency.
