People in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, buried today, Sunday, the body of the child martyr Yusef Abu Jazar, whose body was delivered by the occupation last Thursday after being detained for 3 years.
The funeral procession set off from Abu Yousef Al-Najjar Hospital towards his family´s home, to pay him a final farewell look, before performing funeral prayers on him and burying him in a cemetery west of Rafah.
The funeral participants chanted angry slogans, amid shouts of exaggeration.
The occupation forces killed the 16-year-old child, Abu Jazar, at the security fence east of Rafah, on April 29, 2018.
The occupation forces handed over the body of the child after a petition submitted by his family through the Al Mezan Center for Human Rights before the Israeli Supreme Court.
The Center strongly denounced the continuing Israeli violations, especially the policy of detaining the bodies of Palestinians, noting that this policy violates the basic rights of the deceased and his family, and is considered an inhuman and immoral act.
In a statement, the center indicated that the occupation forces are still holding the bodies of (22) citizens, including (5) children, since March 30, 2018. The center has succeeded in retrieving the bodies of (3) children.
