Gulf leaders and heads of delegations signed today (Tuesday) the "Al-Ula" statement, within the activities of the 41st GCC summit held in Saudi Arabia´s Al-Ula province.
The signing ceremony came after the end of the summit, which was organized in the presence of the US President’s senior advisor, Jared Kushner, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
And the participation of the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Dr. Youssef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and the Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
The Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, considered the signature of the "Al-Ula" statement a historic achievement.
During his speech at the Gulf summit, he recalled the sincere and constructive role played by the late Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who greatly contributed to the success of this agreement.
The Saudi Crown Prince, Prince Muhammad bin Salman Al Saud, during his presidency of the session, stated that the statement affirmed the solidarity and stability of the Gulf, Arab and Islamic countries, and the strengthening of the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between countries and peoples.
This summit came to form a new page for Gulf cooperation after achieving reconciliation between the GCC countries and Saudi Arabia’s decision yesterday (Monday) to open its air, land and sea borders with Qatar after more than 3 years of boycott, as well as the participation of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, heading the summit. dullness.
