A solidarity stand was organized in the Gaza Strip today, Sunday, with the prisoners in the occupation prisons, especially the administrators, including those who are on hunger strike.
The participants in the sit-down called by the Islamic Jihad and Hamas, and the Popular Front, in front of the Beit Hanoun “Erez” checkpoint in the northern Gaza Strip, raised pictures of the prisoners in the occupation prisons, and slogans calling for their support.
Mezher pointed out that there are 540 administrative prisoners in the prisons of the occupation, noting that this detention violates international laws and covenants, which affected all segments and spectra of Palestinian society.
For his part, Tamer al-Zaanin of the Prisoners´ Institutions said that the issue of prisoners needs support and assistance, especially in light of the increase in cases of administrative detention and hunger strikers as they fight an empty bowel battle in rejection of this criminal policy.
In his speech, Al-Zaanin indicated that there are more than 700 sick prisoners inside prisons who practice a policy of deliberate and systematic medical neglect against them, including ten prisoners who suffer from cancer, and that the prison administration does not provide them with appropriate treatment and does not take into account the health and humanitarian conditions for them.
He pointed out that this policy has led, over the past years, to the death of 71 prisoners as a result of deliberate medical negligence, due to the deliberate lack of specialized doctors, and clinics and hospitals lack the minimum health and medical requirements, and this is what happened recently with the released patient prisoner Hussein Masalma, who was released by the occupation after being exhausted. Prison and illness his body, and after his health condition worsened, he contracted cancer while in the occupation prisons.
Al-Zaanin said that “the issue of sick prisoners inside the prisons of the occupation should be placed on the list of priorities of the resistance, the presidency and all the Palestinian people, especially as it is an issue of national and popular consensus.”
For his part, the released prisoner Khaled Nassir said in a speech by Hamas, that the policy of condemnation and denunciation that is issued by the statements of human rights and international institutions does not pay attention to the occupation because it has met with great satisfaction with the Prisons Authority, calling on the media to shed light on the suffering of the prisoners and put it on the media’s priorities list. Arab and International.
In his speech, the editor, Nasir, stressed that the real pressure on the occupation is the one who keeps the captured soldiers and engineered the Wafa Al-Ahrar deal, calling on the Palestinian resistance factions and human rights organizations to stand up to their responsibilities towards the prisoners behind prison bars.
For his part, Awad Al-Sultan called, in a speech by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, to activate popular solidarity with the prisoners, led by the administrative prisoners on hunger strike, stressing the importance and necessity of expanding the national and international campaign to end and break administrative detention to become a struggle, daily and pressing program not only in Palestine but also in Palestine. the whole world.
