Gaza Health Authority: The oxygen generation plant at the Shuhada ´Al-Aqsa Hospital was suspended

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced, this evening, Wednesday, that the oxygen generation station in the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, which serves all areas of the central sector, has stopped.

Bassam Al-Hammadi, Director General of Engineering and Maintenance at the Ministry of Health in Gaza, warned of dangerous repercussions on intensive care patients and premature babies in nurseries and childbirths.

He pointed out that the oxygen station, before its suspension, suffered during the previous days to malfunctions, and required materials and spare parts to be repaired in the warehouses of Funda Company in Jerusalem.

He indicated that the Israeli occupation’s delay in giving approval to a fund company to bring in the materials needed to repair it caused the oxygen station to stop this evening.
