GALANT: Improving humanitarian situation in Gaza security interest for Israel

TEL Aviv _ Agencies

The improvement of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is considered a security interest for Israel, said the Israeli construction and Housing minister, Jav Galant, and a member of the Miniature Council.

In a statement quoted by Channel 10, Galant said the first phase of the current settlement requires a cease-fire and the cessation of events on the wall.

Galant claimed that Israel had surprised Hamas in the past and had been hit hard. Israel will do so in the future if it is necessary, although the option of a wide-ranging confrontation in Gaza will be a last option.
