Facebook officially launches dating service on its US platform

Almost a year after the start of the test in Colombia, Facebook Dating is officially available in the United States.

The product, available to users over the age of 18, will appear as a new private tab in Facebook´s mobile app.

Users who are interested in "dating" can create a separate profile from their main Facebook profiles, with a single click, and identify a potential "future life partner" among their friends´ friends, or also outside the existing friends network.

Facebook says it will make suggestions for people to identify them according to the user´s interests and activities that he mentions when creating the profile.

The dating service allows you to send likes and communicate via private messages, similar to the popular dating app Hinge.

Your Facebook Dating account will not show any of your friends on your profile, unless you use the "Secret Fan" feature that allows you to like nine friends, and if any of them share the same, you will get a notification telling you.

Facebook has launched its own dating service free of charge and does not contain any special ads or in-app purchases.

The service is also integrated with groups and events so that news and group activities can be followed from within Facebook Dating, without having to return to the profile.

Facebook dating is now available in 20 countries around the world, mostly in South America and East Asia, including Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, Suriname, Thailand, Uruguay and Vietnam.

The service will be available in European countries early next year, and there is no information on when it will be available in the Arab countries.
