King Abdullah II reiterated Jordan´s steadfast stance towards the Palestinian issue, and the necessity to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, on the basis of a two-state solution, to ensure the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967 And its capital is East Jerusalem.
During his meeting with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell, on Sunday, the king appreciated the European position that adheres to international legitimacy and the two-state solution according to international legitimacy as the basis for resolving the conflict.
Borrell said that the European Union supports Jordan´s efforts to achieve stability in the region, and without an agreement between the parties concerned, no peace plan will succeed.
