Trade relations between Israel and China have taken a step further, with many bilateral cooperation agreements signed at a high level at the Fourth Annual Forum on Cooperation between the Yunnan Province of China and Israel on Thursday.
A week after Chinese vice-President Wang Zhishan´s visit, which focused exclusively on economic relations, a high-level business delegation from Yunnan Province, southwest China, including the deputy governor of the province, Sung Jueng, arrived in Israel to deepen ties with the Israeli innovation scene, the Israeli "Jerusalem Post" on its website on Friday.
"We believe that the distance (between China and Israel) does not hinder the friendship," said song in front of the forum.
"We believe that the forum is a platform for genuine friendship, and we have provided good opportunities for people from different sectors in Israel to further enhance cooperation," he said.
In order to implement the cooperation plans signed by Wang and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last week, Yunnan Province will focus on deepening cooperation in the fields of technology, trade and agriculture, Song said.
Among the agreements concluded at the Forum, the Yunnan Holding group for investment, with assets valued at about $40 billion, signed deals with the leading Israeli group of safety Companies for chemicals and information technology.
Netanyahu revealed last week that he was pushing for the completion of a free trade agreement between Israel and China.
China is now Israel´s second largest trading partner worldwide, with bilateral trade reaching more than $10 billion in 2017.
