Calling on the European Nations to ensure accountability and protect civilians in Huwwara

The European Union called on Friday evening to ensure accountability and protect civilians, in light of the attack by dozens of settlers on the town of Huwwara, south of Nablus, which led to the death of a young man and the injury of others.

In a statement, the European Union expressed its concern about the high level of violence in the town of Huwwara.

In this context, the United Nations Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Tor Wensland, condemned the attack launched by the colonialists on citizens and their property in the town of Huwwara, south of Nablus, expressing his anger at “the continued incitement, provocations, and lack of accountability for these violent crimes.”

In a statement issued by his office, Wensland pointed out that a young Palestinian man was martyred during the colonists’ attack, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, on the town of Huwwara, which continued from yesterday evening, Thursday, until Friday dawn.

“Israel must ensure the protection of the civilian population and hold perpetrators accountable,” Wensland said, calling on leaders to “act immediately to reduce tensions, hold perpetrators accountable, and stop the vicious cycle of violence.”
