Arab communications Ministers discuss Palestine´s accession to the International Postal Union

The 22nd session of the Arab Council of Ministers for Communication and information began on Thursday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League.

The Council discusses ways to support the request that the State of Palestine intends to submit to the World Postal Union in order to obtain full membership in the Union and to enjoy the rights enjoyed by all Member States.

The Council is also following the preparations for the publication of the unified Arabic postal stamp in 2019, which is being issued every three years, and the Council´s organs have chosen for the next issue "Jerusalem, the capital of Palestine".

The meeting examines the preparation of the upcoming Arab IGF, which is jointly organized with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) after reviewing the results of its work in its first mandate.
