A Palestinian was killed and 37 others were wounded, today, Friday, in clashes with the Israeli occupation forces in the town of Beita, south of Nablus (in the northern occupied West Bank).
According to eyewitnesses, the occupation army fired live and rubber bullets, gas bombs and sound bombs at hundreds of young men who went out in a protest march against the Israeli settlement on the lands of their village. The Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a statement that the young man, Imad Dwaikat, 38, died after arriving at the hospital in critical condition as a result of being hit by live bullets in the chest area. For its part, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement that 37 Palestinians were injured in the confrontations, explaining that the injuries varied between live and rubber bullets and tear gas. The town of "Beta" continues its popular resistance and has been organizing a peaceful march every Friday for more than three months in protest against the establishment of a settlement outpost on the lands of "Sabih" mountain, which is owned by the people of the town and neighboring towns. This brings the number of martyrs of the town of "Beta" since the beginning of its popular resistance to seven, one of whom is Shadi al-Sharfa, who was martyred about two weeks ago, and the occupation forces are still holding his body, in addition to wounding more than 2,500 Palestinians.
