Palestinian citizen Ferial Abbasi Ghoneim of Safad received the highest Medal of Honor awarded in the United States of America for the Palestinian folklore last week in Washington.
She received this honour after participating in a contest in which she represented Palestine before an arbitration committee composed of experts on heritage. The jury chose nine out of thousands of applications and Palestine was at the forefront. The citizenship was presented by Sr. A study that was the result of many years of research and as an honorary doctorate because she said she had transformed embroidery into a science taught at universities.
The tradition took place at an official ceremony in Washington, D.C., and in the United States Capitol, and a congratulatory book from the White House and other official bodies received a forum of struggles waged by Palestinian women in all parts of the world.
