The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced on Sunday that about one million people were displaced in the Gaza Strip during the first week since the launch of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
Agence France-Presse quoted the agency's communications director, Juliette Touma, as saying, "An estimated one million people were displaced in the first seven days."
According to UNRWA, this number is likely to increase as residents continue to leave their homes, for fear of Israeli bombing.
This comes as the death toll in Gaza rose to 2,670, while the wounded rose to 9,600, while the Israeli deaths rose to more than 1,400, at a time when the Gaza Strip is witnessing an intense and continuous aggression for the second week in a row, targeting populated areas and homes, while the occupation is exerting pressure through its aggression or in other ways. Other indirect activities, including partially resupplying the southern Gaza Strip with water in order to displace Gazans from the north to the south.
