The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, that 8 new cases of MERS-CoV have been reported in the Gaza Strip, bringing the number of cases infected in the past 24 hours to 19.
The ministry said in a statement that seven new injuries were recorded, including one of the medical staff at shifa medical complex, in addition to 4 injuries in the Indonesian hospital.
Two injuries were also recorded at Rantisi hospital, she said, adding that the isolation measures had been taken and investigated.
In the past two hours, Health Gaza has reported a woman´s coronavirus infection at an Indonesian hospital in the northern Gaza Strip.
Earlier in the day, it announced that 11 cases of the new CORONA virus had been reported in the community, following 826 new samples in the past 24 hours.
The total number of samples examined for suspected cases was 18,273, including 18,148 negative samples and 125 positive samples, 72 of which were cured, Said Gaza Health in its daily report on coronavirus.
The number of active cases reached 51, including 14 from within the community and 37 cases of returnees, while the Gaza Strip recorded one death from within the community and the other from returnees, she said.
