Abu Hasna: UNRWA in Gaza is operating according to an emergency plan due to the health situation

Adnan Abu Hasna, a spokesman for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees "UNRWA", confirmed today, Wednesday, that the agency has been working according to an emergency plan since yesterday in all parts of the Gaza Strip, due to the health situation.

Abu Hasna said in a radio interview, that UNRWA will work to deliver medical medicines to citizens by providing its services via the phone line without the need for them to go to UNRWA clinics, to preserve their safety.

He pointed out that UNRWA services will extend to non-refugees in Gaza, in coordination with the Ministry of Health.

Regarding foodstuff, the UNRWA spokesman explained that its distribution has been temporarily suspended pending what will be approved this evening regarding clarification of the health mechanisms followed for that.

He indicated that UNRWA is working in coordination with the World Health Organization, and is in contact with the relevant UN agencies, to provide them with the latest developments in the health situation in Gaza.
