72 settlers storm the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque

Today, Monday, 72 Jewish settlers stormed the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, under security protection by the Israeli occupation police.

And the Islamic Endowments in occupied Jerusalem stated, in a statement, that the occupation authorities closed the Mughrabi Gate after allowing 72 settlers to storm the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

She added that the incursions took place under the protection of the Israeli police, and settlers roamed the mosque´s courtyards provocatively

She explained that the occupation police stationed at the gates had seized the identities of the arriving worshipers to the mosque, and searched women´s bags.

The city of Jerusalem in general, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque in particular, have been witnessing since the beginning of the current month of Ramadan, skirmishes between Palestinian youths and the occupation police due to recent attempts to prevent annual Ramadan gatherings and activities in the city center.

Occupation forces also stepped up their attacks on worshipers in conjunction with their exit from Al-Aqsa Mosque after performing Tarawih prayers, as dozens of Palestinians were injured, and others were arrested.

Al-Aqsa Mosque is subjected to continuous Israeli incursions by settlers and the occupation police, and attempts to prevent its reconstruction, as well as the imposition of strict restrictions on its visitors, and other practices.
