Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif discussed with the United Nations Special Envoy for Syria, Jer. Pederson is the latest development in Syria in Tehran today, according to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
At the meeting, Zarif stressed that a political solution is the only way out of the crisis in Syria.
He said that his country is ready to cooperate in resolving the conflict in Syria, based on respect for the country´s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.
Biderson presented his view on the political solution to the crisis in Syria and exchanged views on issues of mutual concern.
Iran supports the Syrian government against the militants, and has made clear that it has sent military advisers to Syria to help the Syrian army fight it against the rebels.
