The US Senate on Tuesday passed a series of laws on the United States ´ policy in the Middle East, one of which narrows down the boycott of Israel, known as BDS.
According to the seventh Hebrew Channel, one of the approved laws is against BDS policies and prevents its activities.
According to the channel, the Council also approved a bill to regulate the memorandum of understanding signed between the United States and Israel in 2016, to support it at $38 billion over 10 years.
Gilad Ardan, Minister of Internal Security and strategic affairs of Israel, welcomed the law passed in the US Senate on the international boycott movement, hoping that it would be definitively voted on.
"The law reaffirms the right of U.S. states to enact laws against Bds," he said. He praised Republican Senator Marco Rubio of Florida who started to introduce the law.
"The law that is expected to be definitively passed in the Senate is of great importance in the struggle against anti-Semitic BDS organizations, and the fact that the first legislation adopted by the new Senate takes steps against those who do not want a Jewish state here is a testament to the strong alliance between Israel and the states," he said.
