Two hikers have been found dead after being lost in remote New Zealand 18 days ago, while they are alive.
Dion Reynolds and Jessica O´Connor (both 23 years old) went out to roam the Kahurangi National Park in the upper part of South Island on May 9.
After they failed to return from their hiking trip as expected, the police, along with volunteers, launched a search for the two on May 19.
Researchers withdrew from the area after heavy rains on Monday, but research efforts were resumed early Wednesday morning.
Police said six teams were airlifted to the search area by the New Zealand Defense Forces today.
She explained that five tracking experts and three dog search teams were brought in to reinforce the search.
