Tramb is the first US president to set foot in North Korea

US President Donald Trump arrived in South Korea on Sunday, just after the end of the Group of Twenty (G20) summit in Japan, and met with the leader of its northern neighbor on the dividing line.

He traveled to the demilitarized zone separating the North and South Koreas, where he roamed there before meeting the North Korean leader and shaking hands with Kim Jong-un "inside North Korea," the first entry by a US president to the country. Relations with Washington have been strained for years.

"President Donald Trump´s brief visit to North Korea´s territory has improved our relations," Kim was quoted by the Associated Press as saying.

He praised Trump´s move as the first American president to visit North Korea, calling it "courageous and resolute."

"I am proud to have crossed the line to North Korea," Trump said.
