US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, arrived in Tel Aviv this morning, Friday, November 3, 2023, to discuss the latest developments in the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip .
In Tel Aviv, Blinken seeks to ensure the continued entry of humanitarian aid, which is still arriving in insufficient quantities.
Yesterday, Thursday, Blinken told reporters at Andrews Air Force Base before heading to the Middle East, that "we will talk about concrete steps that can and should be taken to reduce the harm caused to men, women and children in Gaza." He reaffirmed "Israel's right to defend itself."
The White House has so far refrained from calling for a ceasefire, considering that Hamas will benefit from it, and instead calls for “humanitarian truces” that allow the evacuation of residents and the entry of aid in exchange for the release of hostages or kidnapped by Hamas.
