The new Corona virus has killed at least 5764 people in the world since its appearance last December, according to a toll prepared by Agence France-Presse according to official sources Saturday at 17:00: 00 GMT.

151,760 cases have been recorded in 137 countries and regions since the epidemic began. However, the number of diagnosed infections does not fully reflect the reality, as the criteria for infection counts and Covid-19 diagnostic tests vary by country.

From the previous census Friday to 17:00 GMT, there were 417 new deaths and 11,37 new infections worldwide.

The country that witnessed the largest increase in death toll in the past 24 hours is Italy (175), Iran (97), and Spain 63.

China (excluding the Hong Kong and Macao regions) from which the epidemic started in late December, recorded 80,824 injuries, including 3,189 deaths and 65,541 people cured. China announced 11 injuries and 13 deaths between Friday and Saturday.

In the rest of the world, 2575 deaths (404 new) were recorded from Friday evening until the date of the toll preparation Saturday, out of 70,943 injuries (11,026 new).

The most affected country after China is Italy, with 441 deaths out of 21,157 injuries, then Iran with 611 deaths and 12,729 injuries, Spain with 183 deaths and 5753 injuries, and France, where 79 deaths and 3661 injuries were recorded.

Since Friday, Ecuador and Denmark have announced their first HIV deaths on their soil. Kosovo, Mauritania, Uruguay, Suriname, Guatemala, Antigua and Barbuda, Namibia, Aswatini, Puerto Rico, Guinea, Equatorial Guinea and Rwanda have announced their first injuries.

The number of injuries in Asia at 17:00 GMT Saturday, 91,480 cases (3,303 deaths), Europe 42,828 cases (1771 deaths), the Middle East 13,950 cases (623 deaths), the United States and Canada 2,600 injuries (52 deaths), Latin America and the Caribbean 418 cases (5 deaths) and Africa 247 cases (7 deaths) and Oceania 244 injuries (3 deaths).
