The occupation was attacked 17 times on the fishermen during June

The Israeli occupation forces used 17 times on Palestinian fishermen in the Gaza sea in June, while they were playing at sea areas 6 times.

Zakaria Bakr, Coordinator of the Fishermen´s Committees of the Union of Agricultural Work Committees in Gaza (a non-governmental trade union organization), said that during June the Israeli military boats opened fire at the fishing boats 17 times.

Bakr explained in a written statement that three fishermen were arrested during the month, which were later released, and the injury of one fisherman as a result of the attack on his vehicle, in addition to the destruction of two boats in part and the flooding of four boats.

He pointed out that this month was the manipulation of maritime areas 6 times between the reduction and expansion and a complete closure of the sea lasted 5 days.

The Israeli occupation forces began targeting fishermen in the open sea on a daily basis in addition to the series of violations committed by the occupation forces against the Gaza Strip since the signing of the truce between the Palestinian resistance and the occupation on 26 August 2014 under the apepices of Egypt.

The Oslo Agreement signed between the PLO and the Israeli occupation on 13 September 1993 allowed fishermen to sail 20 nautical miles along the shores of the Gaza Strip, but the occupation reduced the distance to only 6 nautical miles.
