Israeli naval forces struck a fisherman early Wednesday and arrested two others near the oasis of the oasis in the northwest of the Gaza Strip.
The troops took the fisherman to the port of Ashdod and confiscated their boat. The injured fisherman was taken to hospital for treatment.
According to the Fishermen´s Syndicate in Gaza, Israeli gunboats have launched attacks against fishermen since yesterday. They have also sunk a number of boats and fishing nets and fired at them in an attempt to impede a new policy at sea after its decision to reduce the fishing area to 6 miles.
