According to Palestinian human rights data, 220 prisoners of children are denied access to the new school year that began on Sunday.
The director of the Center for "prisoners of studies", Raafat Hamdouna, in a statement today that the occupation authorities commit children against dozens of violations such as psychological and physical torture. He called on the human rights organizations of the child to follow up the conditions of the minor detainees in Israeli prisons, and to press the occupation to secure their freedom and to join their schools. "The deprivation of these child prisoners by the Israeli Prison Administration and the Israeli government has exceeded their privacy and requirements, which have been confirmed by international conventions and international humanitarian law," Hamdouna said. He pointed out to the cruel treatment they are subjected to and the violation of all international norms and conventions that guarantee the protection of these minors and ensure their physical, psychological and educational rights. He pointed out that the Israeli occupation authorities deal with children with a policy of intimidation aimed at destroying Palestinian childhood, and inflicting health, psychological, physical and social effects. He called on the human rights organizations of the child to follow up the situation of the minor detainees in Israeli prisons, to hear their testimonies, and to hold the Israeli state accountable for its crimes against them and to provide protection for them.
