The official of the Palestinian medical mission, Dr. Mustafa Al-Qawasmi, that the mission is preparing to open two medical clinics in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, to provide services and medical care for pilgrims of the State of Palestine, during the performance of the Hajj rituals.
The mission was formed by a decision of the Minister of Health, Mai Al-Kaila, with the aim of providing medical services to pilgrims and raising their awareness for the safety of the pilgrims and enabling them to complete the Hajj rituals in good health, as stated by the delegate of the official news agency "Wafa".
Al-Qawasmi indicated that the medical mission for the current Hajj season includes seven doctors and six nurses from the Ministry of Health and a doctor from the Ministry of Endowments, and pointed out that the mission is reduced due to the reduction in the number of pilgrims for this year to 45%, due to the precautionary measures related to the Corona virus in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia .
He indicated that the medical mission includes qualified doctors in several specialties, most notably: emergency, general medicine, orthopedics, urology, cardiology, and internal diseases.
He explained that the mission will work in two directions: the first is to provide emergency services for sick cases among pilgrims through the two medical clinics, and the second is by providing awareness to pilgrims and urging them to take the necessary precautions to preserve their safety during the performance of the Hajj rituals.
He stressed the importance of the awareness aspect in maintaining the health of pilgrims and enabling them to perform the rituals of Hajj to the fullest, calling on pilgrims, especially those who suffer from chronic diseases, to commit to taking their medicines regularly, drinking enough water to replace the fluids lost by their bodies, and protecting themselves from exposure to "blows." " the sun.
Al-Qawasmi indicated that there is coordination between the Palestinian medical mission and the competent Saudi authorities, in the event that some cases need to be transferred to the Kingdom´s hospitals for treatment.
And he indicated that the medical mission provides medicines related to sore throats, skin infections, back pain, sunstroke, diabetes tests, blood pressure and vital signs.
He pointed out that members of the medical mission will be present in the two clinics that will be opened in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, daily from eight in the morning until twelve in the middle of the night.
Al-Qawasmi stressed that the mission will make every possible effort to care for the pilgrims and provide the necessary medical services to them in order to help them complete the Hajj rituals while they are in good health. He said: "This is a national, religious and professional duty towards our people and our people."
It is noteworthy that the current Hajj season is the first after a two-year interruption, due to the Corona pandemic.
