Soldiers of the border police deliberately fired at a Palestinian youth in the Bab al-Amud area after being shot dead, and were not investigated despite their recognition, the Hebrew daily Ha´aretz reported on Sunday morning.
According to the newspaper, the incident occurred on October 14, 2015, when soldiers opened fire at the young man Bassel Sidr, 19, from Hebron residents in Bab al-Amud square, after being hit with the aim of killing him.
The newspaper noted that although one of the soldiers acknowledged his act, the Police investigation unit called "Dip " did not investigate any of them.
In the details of the incident, the Israeli occupation soldiers saw Sidr, sitting on the door of the column, watching the Soldiers ´ movement, and when they approached him they noticed that he had a knife, shot him in the leg, and continued to shoot him in the head until he died.
The police conducted an investigation of the scene, and one of the soldiers admitted that he had shot young Sidr from a distance of 7 metres directly on his head after his fall, while the other soldier said that he had also shot the young man after he had moved his head again and told investigators that they had carried out the murder verification procedure.
The newspaper says that despite these testimonies of the soldiers, "dip " twice refused to investigate the case under the allegation that the soldiers were in danger, and considered that there were attempts to discredit the soldiers during a wave of operations.
Al-Cheb Sidr´s father told the paper that he felt powerless at the decision not to investigate the circumstances of his son´s execution deliberately. He pointed out that his family was constantly harassed and searched by the occupation, as well as prevented from travelling.
The autopsy on his son´s body in Hebron showed that he had suffered at least 27 bullets.
"The videos show that the young man did not pose a risk of being shot so intensively and executed after he was injured in the leg and fell on the ground," he added. He explained that the aim of the investigation was to prevent similar incidents in the future.
"I have no capacity to deal alone with the Israeli security apparatus, but I am ready to help enhance the possibility of opening the investigation," he said.
