The International Criminal Court refers the file of the complaint in the killing of Abu Aqelah to its collection of information

The International Criminal Court referred the file of the complaint in the killing of colleague Sherine Abu Aqleh to its group information, and sent it to its concerned employees for further review.

The Journalists Syndicate stated, in a press statement today, Saturday, that it had received a response from the Information and Evidence Unit in the Office of the Attorney General of the International Criminal Court to the complaint submitted by the Syndicate´s lawyer, the International Federation of Journalists, the Abu Aqleh family, and the International Center for Justice for Palestinians, in which it confirmed that it would add the information provided to their information collection, and forwarded to the relevant personnel for further review.”

The Information and Evidence Unit of the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court indicated that "this response letter does not mean that the Office of the Prosecutor has made a decision on the substance of your letter."

The Journalists Syndicate considered this a step in the right direction, but it is not sufficient, and that what is now required is speedy investigation procedures by the Office of the Attorney General of the International Criminal Court in order to hold the killers accountable and achieve justice for colleague Abu Aqelah.

The union congratulated our Palestinian people on the birthdays, and said: Despite the pain of the absence of our colleague Abu Aqelah, her spirit, her biography and her path will remain present among us.
