The Arab Parliament rejects any prejudice to UNRWA and its competencies towards Palestinian refugees

The Arab Parliament denounced the Israeli attempts and plans aimed at liquidating the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees "UNRWA", stressing its total rejection of prejudice to the responsibility and competencies of "UNRWA" towards the Palestinian refugees, in order to find a just solution to the Palestinian refugee issue according to International legitimacy resolutions.

In a statement issued today, Tuesday, the Arab Parliament affirmed its absolute support for UNRWA to continue to play its role in providing basic and necessary services to Palestinian refugees, as it is the only mechanism that carries out this important humanitarian responsibility to improve the conditions of Palestinians in the Palestinian territories.

He pointed out the importance of providing the necessary support to UNRWA, especially with the financial conditions it is facing, and the negative repercussions of the Corona pandemic, with the aim of maintaining the continuation of its work as required.

The Arab Parliament called on the international community to assume its responsibilities towards the Palestinian refugees, through aid and funding, to enable UNRWA to continue its work, stressing the need to enable UNRWA to assume its social responsibilities towards the refugees, and its political and legal responsibilities to secure their rights and the rights of the countries hosting them.
