A model of a Boeing-made plane has taken off on its first successful pilot flight, the airline said, with the unveiling of the project, part of a wider plan for independent aircraft cabs.
The vehicle has a structure similar to the structure of a single-engine aircraft with a rear fan and a glass façade. It is equipped with two jacks, which have several fans that allow vertical takeoff and landing, as are several aircraft.
During this first experiment, the vehicle took off and circled its place before landing.
The BoeingNext, which coordinates efforts to develop urban air transport, has collaborated with its Aurora Flight Sciences to develop this model, which took place last Tuesday.
Further security-related testing of independent air transport on demand is expected, according to a statement from the company.
It is supposed to remain fully independent in the vicinity of 80 km.
Several project groups similar to Boeing´s, such as Airbus, have evolved with the Vhana model, first launched in February 2018, Ober and Aston Martin, as well as many start-ups the field.
