International singer Shakira is preparing to appear before the Spanish court on June 12 for tax evasion.
The Colombian singer will appear in the Esplugues de Llobregat court in Barcelona after a lawsuit filed against her by the prosecutor for six tax evasion operations.
According to the Office of the Prosecutor, the amount amounted to 14.5 million euros, and was hidden by 14 companies located in the Cayman Islands, the Virgin Islands and Panama and other areas, according to the site "Europa Press."
The Colombian-born singer has been in a relationship since 2010 with Spanish star Gerrard Pique.
The couple announced their marriage in 2011 and a 2015 investigation into the singer´s tax evasion was launched. The Tax Authority announced that Shakira had engaged in money smuggling in four years, despite spending most of the time in Spain.
