Settlers set fire to olive trees south of Bethlehem

A group of settlers set fire to an olive grove in the town of Beit Fajjar, south of Bethlehem, on Saturday.

Hassan Barijia, director of the Wall and Settlement Authority in the Bethlehem Governorate, said that a number of settlers stormed the "Deir Mualla" site north of Beit Fajar, which belongs to the citizen Naseem Taqatqa, and set fire to the vineyard, which caused severe damage to about 50 perennial trees planted for more than 20 years.

A number of residents tried to extinguish the fire and not expand it, blaming the Israeli authorities for that, especially since most of the attacks against citizens and their property are carried out either by guarding the occupation army or by closing the file and not investigating it.
