Samsung has denied rumors earlier this week about the launch of the world´s first folding smartphone, the Galaxy Fold, in July, and it sees the South Korean giant has made only progress Little in terms of launching the phone.
Rumor has it that the company will unveil the collapsible device for the South Korean media in June, which will be on the market in July, but a Samsung official denied it while speaking with the Korea Herald.
"The phone will arrive before July," said DJ Koh, president and chief executive officer of Samsung´s information and communications technology division, who told a South Korean media outlet last week.
However, according to Samsung, the schedule for the South Korean folding phone detection event has not yet been officially set and released in the country so far.
"If we want to hold such a media event this month, we have to do something now, and no progress has been made since the April postponement," said a Samsung official.
Samsung may have nothing new about setting the date of launch, or it has made no progress in fixing the flaws of Galaxy´s design.
More than a month and a half has passed since Samsung delayed the launch date of the Galaxy Flood in the United States indefinitely, which was set for April 26, due to defects in the folding screen found by reviewers in the United States.
The company announced on a regular basis that the release date would be announced in the "coming weeks." According to reports, Samsung aims internally to provide the Galaxy Fuld after fixing defects screen no later than June.
Senior executives in the smart phone sector in the South Korean technology giant held secret meetings in early May to confirm the new timetable for the introduction of the folding model.
Samsung told the Korea Herald at the time that it had completed its internal examination of defective samples and added that it was in the process of developing measures to solve the problem, including strengthening the hardness of exposed areas at the joint; and reducing the gap between the protective layer and the screen frame to prevent external materials from entering the device.
The company gave some of its officials and engineers user-specific versions of the phone, and appeared with the folding device in public places, sending hints that the device is still being tested.
US customers canceled pre-orders for the Galaxy Fold, with Best Buy, the country´s largest electronics retailer, canceling pre-orders in full last month.
AT & T, the country´s largest mobile phone operator, also told customers that the Galaxy´s pre-orders had been canceled because Samsung delayed the launch of the phone.
